Dragging my insides [2025]

Dragging my insides is a 15-minute long performance work, developed during a 6-week programme with Double Okay. The project was funded by Arts Council England, which culminated in a performance at South Street Arts Centre, Reading. Dragging my insides was part of a larger show, performed alongside Biogal, Nida Hug, Lara Beasley and Hesse K.

The work consists of latex costuming, soft sculpture, video projection, sound scape, and filled water balloons. Using methods of clowning, Ollie drags the soft sculpture across the stage, up the steps of the theatre and pass them into the audience. The process is comedic, as well as laborious and precarious, as the sculptures are difficult to carry and he wears 7-inch platform pleasers. The sculptures move through the audience, and Ollie returns to the stage, where he has stations set up wrapped in more sculptural works. He bursts and pop the water balloons with his hands and teeth, moving between two stations on the stage. He then moves back to the audience, wrapping them in the sculptural work, and finishes the performance by collecting the sculptural costuming back, wrapping it around himself, hysterically laughing.
