Tonsillitis sux! [2018]

A performance created and performed in residency at Womp Space, Sheffield.

Performed again at u slip into, an experimental queer performance night produced by Double Okay, at the After Dark in Reading.

Tonsillitis sux! is a performance using drag, projected visuals, music, and spoken word to explore my experiences of illness in the form of tonsillitis, conflated with the painful experiences of gender dysphoria, sexual desire and a deep need for rest. Alongside spoken monologues, I sing along to pop song excerpts, from SZA, Lily Allen and Poppy, creating a surreal narrative. The work ends with wet tissue thrown at the projected tonsils, in a cathartic celebration of them.
